He was like no one else, sui generis. His setting those mustangs free gives me goosebumps every time. I wish he'd had more birthdays.


I have re-watched the Misfits many times too, there is something about that elegiac tone that I seem to be drawn to. Happily Netflix has just dropped off A Place in the Sun.

Oh and by the by I got to finally see Ride the Pink Horse which you mentioned before, and Paul Schrader mentions in his Notes On Film Noir also. Wow Robert Montgomery...who knew? where has this guy been all my Noir lovin life?
