Lemmon's father was dying during the making on this film, and then he did die. I believe Lemmon put everything into that role!

Thanks, I was sort of in the mood for this as I have been sort of reacquainting, or seeing for the first time, old Jack Lemmon films. I haven't seen DOWAR but now I will have to . I have to be honest I am not the biggest Blake Edwards fan out there. Yeah, Pink Panther I know, but I (perhaps mistakenly) give Sellers the credit for making those work, otherwise Edwards direction makes them look like big glossy TV movies. Edwards is smart to have great talent in his films like Lemmon and Sellers to carry it off.
