I was at a dinner party a while back and was completely crucified when I suggested that Marilyn was a great actress. A friend told me that "She's no Geraldine Page", as if the two were comparable. This piece puts into words what Monroe could do on screen and I enjoyed it immensely, so thank you!

The passing of time is the great qualifier of what is excellence and unique -- MM has passed that test. There is an honesty that always come through and that is what others see in movies & photo's. Considering the current performances of Hollywood women who win academy awards for so called superb acting - MM should have received a couple of oscars for her screen contributions which still have power.

After all these years MM still sells and fascinates new generations and that is staying power -- that is Star Power !!

You could not write a novel about her life -- people would say it could not happen, but it did - she is all American - an icon in our culture and she will most likely out live us all !!

Peace my Sweet !

Roy

Joshua Logan, the director of the Monroe film "Bus Stop" has much to say on her acting abilities (pages 71 to 115) in his book "Move stars, real people and me."
