« It's A Beautiful World We Live In--'Idiocracy' | Main | You Bitches!--'The Wicker Man' Redux »

Apparently, last week Faye Dunaway offered to accompany Ken Russell into the UK's CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER house. The producers of the show refused. Madness. Who says "No" to a goddess??

That is terrible. And insane--Faye and Ken Russell anywhere near Celebrity Big Brother? Network did come true...

I love this!

I met her on the set of "Alias" when she guest starred. She's amazing. I don't care about the stories. I've heard them all. She's a star.

Now im a big fan of Faye Dunnaway but lets discuss Chinatown for a moment.....It's rubbish in'it. First of all Polanski couldn't make a good film with three hundred million dollars, a charlie kaufman script and twelve marlon brando's. Secondly the writer Robert Towne is one of the worst screen writers in film history. The Last Detail, Shampoo please. The less said about them the better.

Now Network hmmm that's about a 4 out of 10 movie. Ok maybe 4.5. But it ain't much. The weakest of Lumet's "celebrated" works (none of them are much good) I often ask a person what they think of Network to see if they have any taste. If they respond in the positive i quickly dismiss them with a cold glare.

Now Bonnie and Clyde is fantastic, one cannot say too much about it, and Barfly is a good film to. But my point is actors don't really get to make too much good stuff in their careers, do they.

Hmmm...I can understand where you're coming from with "Network"--it's a film many people find (and found) over-cooked, overrated and over-everything but I'm going to have to disagree with your take on Polanski. Repulsion, Cul De Sac, Knife in the Water, Rosemary's Baby...the guy knows how to shoot a film. And his stories are fascinating and strange while being incredibly in touch with what people are really like. To me, he's the Dostoyevksy or Kafka of filmmakers--morbidly humorous and pretty damn cynical.

But, you're right about actors. There's always crap in their canon.
